I created this website with pets and the people that love them in mind, with the sincere desire to create a forum for you…. pet lovers everywhere…… to meet, share experiences, stories, pictures, your frustrations, ideas, and knowledge about the animals in your lives.

The “why” as to why I was driven to create a website devoted exclusively to pets is a fairly long story, which involves a lifetime of loving, and having an endless curiosity about all creatures, many years of being asked for advice from everyone around me about their pets and different aspects of how to care for them, and from my own frustrations and experiences caring for and raising pets of my own.

The “why” as to why now, you ask?   Well it all boils down to one little lizard, Jasper.  I didn’t go to the pet store that day with the intent of bringing home a Bearded Dragon, never crossed my mind, but while passing the reptile enclosures in order to get to the cat food aisle, a little dragon caught my eye. I slowed to look at all the reptiles as I always do and what surprised me was that this little lizard, as I approached, jumped down from his perch, came to the glass pressing his nose against it, seemingly intent on me. Of course we all want to think that the intent of any animal has something to do with us, but there was something unusual about this encounter. I tested my theory by slowly walking past his enclosure, and as I did he moved in the same direction, still against the glass and still, it seemed, intent on me. I walked back in the other direction, and so did he. Well to make a very long story just long, I called a sales person over, put my hand down near him, he casually walked onto it, let me lift him out, and the rest is history.  Jasper is now an adult, happily living with me, my very confused husband and our two cats, who treat him like a member of the family…..Jasper, not my husband.

You may be still wondering how “Jasper” relates to the creation of this site…. Well, it’s because it wasn’t the easiest experience raising him, giving him everything he needed at every stage of his development, and there is a H-U-G-E quantity of misinformation out there with hundreds of companies trying to sell you inadequate products, all the while spreading more misinformation just to make a sale. Jasper grew up happy and healthy due to the advice from other pet lovers out their who had already successfully raised a Bearded Dragon and that’s what this site is all about….the sharing of information between people who love their pets and only want the best for them.

So in closing, I give this site over to you, in order to make it just a little easier to raise and care for the “Jasper” in your life, whether it be a critter with fur, fins, wings or scales.
